The owner’s welcome and the charm of the place made the stay wonderful.

Staying at Quinta de Santa Comba was a fascinating experience, especially because it’s a 17th‑century historic building and the host arranged tours of the various rooms; however, it’s a bit off the main roads from Barcelos, which is understandable for a rural property, and there’s no exterior lighting at night.

The house was very well maintained, clean, tidy, and exuded a lovely traditional Portuguese taste, and I had no problems at all—everything was fine.

The space is fabulous, kept in great condition by the owner, Mr. Jorge, who welcomed us warmly and made us feel like family, showing us the property with passion; the gardens are well cared for, the large pool is impressive, and it’s the perfect spot to disconnect and experience a true Quinta Minhota; the breakfast is excellent and uses products from the estate, and I promise to return soon.
