Aqueen Prestige Hotel Jalan Besar

The hotel was requested, seeing it advertised as a larger room for Singapore. This is also the only plus point of this hotel. It was unhygienic, the trash from previous guests still lay in corners, including paper scraps and a coffee bag. Flies buzzed through the room. The hotel looked messy. The cleaning cart stayed all day next to the elevators, so you ran into it. The doors slammed hard, causing frequent disturbances from other guests. Breakfast was served in the nearby restaurant where regular guests sit, offering a much better breakfast than what the hotel guests receive. Beds were too small for an average Dutch person. We were both short, but couldn't lie in bed for long. The MRT is a 12‑minute walk to several stations, but with luggage this is not always obvious.

“Overall amazing”

We had a great stay overall; the room was a bit small but that’s typical in Singapore, so it didn’t bother us. The spot was super convenient, just a short walk from the sights we wanted to hit, and the bus stop was only about 500 metres away, making public transport cheap and easy. My girlfriend and I were here for four nights and everything was clean, comfy, and had all the basics we needed. The only real issue was the strong odor in the hallway that lingered the whole time, and the place was quite noisy at night – the rooms weren’t well sound‑proofed, so we could hear people talking and walking past, which sometimes broke our sleep.
