The hotel sits on a quiet street with a great café‑restaurant right across the street, and compared to our previous stay we were very happy here. It takes 5 to 12 minutes on foot to reach the supermarket. The room had no window to the outside and was a bit dated (normal for Sumatra), but the bedding was very comfortable and I slept great. Towels, a small soap, toothbrush, and toothpaste were provided just in case. The sheets smelled good, the room did too, and the air conditioning worked. The shower/toilet area was tiled, fairly clean, and large enough to feel comfortable, with a VMC. There was a sink and a small mirror outside. The receptionist was very friendly and warned us about regular power outages and that there was no backup generator, something our previous hotel had. There’s a water fountain in the lobby (hot and lukewarm) where you can fill a bottle, and cups at the reception for a quick tea or coffee, plus comfy sofas. We felt good there. A bath mat would have been nice for drying feet after the bathroom, but it didn’t bother us too much.
