“Csodás hely!”
We loved it, great surroundings, wonderful accommodation, friendly staff. We’re sure we’ll return—my husband already wanted to come back next week.

The lodge’s location, the fitness centre and wellness facilities, the staff’s friendliness, and the breakfast! No complaints.

We could park our car in their garage a few hours before check‑in; it’s a 3‑minute walk from the Salamander train, and the garage has an EV charger run by EVN with two Type 2 spots already installed—you can also use the wellness area on the day of checkout until 18:00.

I was thrilled to find the hotel just a stone’s throw from the ÖBB station in Schneeberg and the start of the Schmeebergbahn, and the parking right outside the building made driving a breeze. The front desk was friendly, but we were quickly taken aback when the staff loudly talked about a colleague behind our backs – not the best first impression. The overall vibe of the hotel was pleasant, and I enjoyed lingering at the bar in the evenings. The spa area and pool were lovely, perfect for a swim and some downtime. Dinner was excellent and the staff were courteous. Breakfast covered everything needed for a good start to the day, with the helpful kitchen crew bringing items to us as requested. The service staff could use a bit more morning smiles; a day should begin with joy. On the downside, the room itself was a real highlight with great furniture, comfortable beds, a well-equipped bathroom, and a balcony to relax on. However, we were disappointed by the dust everywhere – on the armrests, the cabinet, the table, the doors, the shelves above the table, and even on the TV. We mentioned this at check‑out the next day, but the receptionist snapped back, saying we should have brought it up yesterday so she could have swapped our room. No apology, no acknowledgment of the issue to be forwarded. With a nightly rate well over 200 euros, we expected competence, not ignorance. Mistakes happen, but they should be reflected on and handled with empathy, which was sadly absent here.
