“Overall great place”
The location is good. Super close to the Little Spoon. The balcony is so nice! The cat is cuddly! The shower can electrocute you. Ants around the garbage.
“Spacious dorm room for a short stay in Pana”
Good location in Panajachel though I wouldn't stay here as a main base for exploring Atitlan more because I don't think the town of Panajachel offers much compared to other lake towns. I stayed one night before catching a shuttle, as most people in the dorm. Others in the dorm were respectful and not noisy/turning on lights and leaving quietly. The room itself is quite spacious so although there are 8 beds they are not all squished together. Nice balcony, though didn't use it much. It's nice that the beds have curtains and a charging point each. FYI there is a cat who belongs to the owner that hangs out at the apartment. If you are allergic I wouldn't recommend this place. There are only 4 small secure lockers in the dorm (for 8 beds) so you may not be able to use one. Need your own lock. The bathroom floor was completely flooded while I was there - not so nice. Overall the bathroom/shower isn't the nicest but fine for one night with flip flops. Lastly, for the payment you might need EXACT CASH as accepted the methods of payment seem very limited - no digital option offered and not much flexibility from the owner/reception side. I had to run around changing notes/getting change the evening before an early bus in order to pay which was a bit annoying. Some more flexibility on payment options would be good
The spot on Main Street is super convenient, and even though it’s a private apartment room, the online check‑in worked smoothly and was a big plus. I loved the balcony—it’s gorgeous and the cat that hangs out there made me feel great, and the keypad lock at the door means I didn’t have to lug a key around. The sheets were all fuzzed, but that didn’t bother me much; the real issue was that the headboard didn’t touch the wall and there was no rail, so pillows and stuff kept falling off and I slept very uneasily.
Very cozy one-room 8-bed apartment spot, beds all had curtains and outlets. The owner is a bit feline however and very touchy. Beautiful quiet spot with a balcony. Due to there being no on-site staff, check-in can be difficult without good connection. Lots of street dogs (no fault of the hostel).
“Staying here next again”
Loved it. Lole a studio apartment with 8 bunk beds. Only 2 of us there the night I stayed. Fridge and cooking area so nice to have. Balcony also great for being outside and people watching. Delicious thai restaurant downstairs. All was good
