Be ready for a steep climb with many steps and no luggage assistance. The bungalows are basic—no AC, firm beds, and an open‑air shower—so the room gets very hot. Worse, there was no running water at all on our last day, and the staff simply shrugged it off as normal. Reaching the beach requires walking through the restaurant and stepping into the water. On the bright side, the spectacular views and phenomenal snorkeling right off the beach help make up for the rough edges. A pro tip: rent a scooter for about 200 baht/day to get to town for meals, as otherwise it’s a 25‑minute walk.

“A stressful and unacceptable experience - we arrived after 14 hours of travel but were left without suitable accommodati”

After a continuous 20‑hour journey, we arrived exhausted at Rocky Resort only to find that the property could not provide the room we had booked. Without consulting us or obtaining our approval, they had independently decided to place us in a smaller, cheaper room instead of the larger one we had reserved, and they had not even confirmed whether this would be acceptable. To make matters worse, the staff warned us that the replacement room would most likely have insects. We were expected to accept all of this despite never agreeing to any change. We were left without a suitable room or an effective solution for about four hours. The situation was handled extremely poorly: the staff were unprofessional, impolite, and gave conflicting information instead of practical assistance. After a 20‑hour trip, this treatment caused us considerable stress, exhaustion, and inconvenience. We had reserved four nights but could not stay at the property for even one. The entire experience was deeply unpleasant and completely unacceptable. Based on what happened, I strongly advise others to avoid Rocky Resort.

The beach is a dream, and the accommodation is right on Shark Bay. The only downside is the lack of air conditioning; otherwise everything is perfect.

“Agréable séjour au calme et proche de l’eau”

The view from the bungalows is truly incredible, sleeping with the sound of the sea and waking up so close is really pleasant. The beds are large and comfortable. The toilets are directly connected to the sea, which can bring very unpleasant odors, and if you swim too close to the houses… it’s really not enjoyable.
