The hotel feels a bit old-fashioned but the room is clean with a very comfortable mattress, parking is spacious, breakfast is good, and the staff are very kind and helpful; the location is excellent, just a 5‑minute walk to the Laveno Mombello cable car.

A vintage family‑friendly hotel‑restaurant from the 70s and 80s, not in a tourist zone. The room gear isn’t ultra‑modern but covers the basics. The reception was very friendly, and even though the waiter had only a handful of French words, we managed to get by, helped by an English‑speaking waitress. The restaurant (not tiny) fills up at night on weekdays with business travellers, locals, and tourists, offering great value. We liked the warm, family vibe. It’s more of a funny anecdote than a complaint: the building is reinforced concrete with large windows and aluminum shutters; when the shutters were down it acted like a Faraday cage and blocked mobile internet—lifting them fixed it. Air‑conditioning would have been nice (we had a fan), but the storm did the job.

The manager was kind. Nothing else.

The cleaning lady did a perfect job and was nice about it, as she said. We found out there was no breakfast, no air‑conditioning, which is unacceptable in hot summers. At check‑in the staff were short‑skirted and barely spoke to us; by check‑out they were much nicer.
