Hotel Asafuji

The place is really beautiful. I especially appreciated, that they were making extra vegetarian dinner and breakfast for me. The rooms are very pretty and at least every time I went to the onsen it was empty and I could enjoy it by myself. The staff is very nice and helpful. The indoor clothes they provide are very comfy The shuttle was also very easy and convenient They prepare the futon while you go to dinner and remove it during the day (which means you can't have day naps haha). Nothing to complain. Maybe it would have been nice if they would have their own little rental bikes but they offered to drive me to a bike rental place

“Simply exceptional”

Where to start. First of all everything was outstanding. The staff. They were friendly, helpful and spoke good English. They were very accommodating to any questions or inquiries. They also had a free Udon tasting trial, a Yukata trial wear, so that you can get to experience Japanese traditions. The hotel room. It was as described. A old-style Japanese room, modern amenities were available. Electricity was available, it had air conditioning, bathrooms were old style, but still modern. The Ryokan. It was very good, the view from the 4th floor was superb and it was open for a long time, so you didn’t feel the need to rush your experience. Instructions for people who aren’t familiar with the rules for Ryokans are also provided. The food. We took only breakfast, so I can’t speak for the dinner, but the breakfast was good. It was traditional Japanese cuisine, it was good and was very plentiful. For us after eating breakfast, we would feel full until the evening. To be honest. I really can’t add anything meaningful as to what I didn’t like. Maybe it was a bit weird that some pieces of food in the breakfast were served chilled, but they didn’t taste bad

“Great for couples and friends in a beautiful town.”

The staff was so nice since we arrived late, they still allowed us to have the dinner and it was amazing. The breakfast was really good too. The onsen was relaxing and the views of the lake were fantastic. The staff was so kind. Was worried about the traditional bed, but it was really comfortable. I was able to walk around the lake to oishi park and see the sunrise. The room temp was perfect and of course the amazing Japanese toilets. Amazing experience. There was a pillow with like hard beads in it which was uncomfortable, but I wish I realized there were more pillows in the closet
