“Quiet central old town location”
The location is perfect and the room is spacious.
“Interessantes Erlebnis in traditionellem Ryokan in schöner Lage”
As Europeans, staying at this ryokan was an exciting experience that’s hard to compare to other accommodations. The place was very clean, the room large, and the window faced the river, giving a picturesque view. The host was very friendly and attentive. The onsen bath was a first‑time experience that left me feeling very clean and relaxed. The location is great, right on the river and just a few minutes’ walk from the bus stop. It’s a truly interesting experience that, in our view, belongs on a Japanese vacation. The communal toilet and washbasin weren’t my preference, but that doesn’t diminish the rating; it’s just how ryokans work. The walls are thin and the noise is noticeable, but that’s part of the package. You just need to know what you’re getting into.

The location was good.
“コスパ良し。ロケーション良し。”
I called ahead because I couldn't locate the place by car, but the staff were helpful on the phone. I stayed in the Kaede room and the balcony view was fantastic, with the river’s murmur and cicadas creating a charming atmosphere. The room was spacious and clean, and the restaurant they recommended served excellent food; the sake flavored with rockfish broth was especially tasty. Finding the hotel was tricky and the narrow road gave me a hard time, especially with a midsize or larger car; I had to use a monthly lot, make a U‑turn and finally get there. Local cars zip past at high speed, making the street feel a bit unsafe, and I think the popular tourist spot could use better traffic control or some municipal intervention.

The bath, the meals, and the view from the room were all good.
