The room featured an outdoor balcony overlooking a creek, which was great for relaxing, and the location was excellent—just a 3‑minute drive to the Canoe Museum; the breakfasts were nice and had a good mix of items. Some fixtures were aging, the sink plug broke, but the maintenance guy arrived with an excellent attitude and fixed it quickly.

Breakfast offered a lovely daily selection, and the staff were very kind and friendly, but the internet/Wi‑Fi was slow and dropped a lot, so it could use an upgrade.

The hotel is very beautiful, located on a loop of the Otonabee River, but it’s a bit off‑center from downtown, so you’ll need a car. The reception was somewhat cold on arrival, though the staff were courteous afterward. The room felt a little outdated, for example the carpet. Breakfast is included but ordinary.

The hotel is large, yet the environment is pleasant; we had a river view, and the room was nice with a fridge and coffee machine. The breakfast could have been better—there was a bit of a scramble for space and the selection wasn’t huge, but given the hotel’s category it’s adequate.
