Breakfast was served on the 7th floor (the seventh) in a terrace with a stunning view. It was spectacular to have coffee while looking out over Vila Borghesi and the Basilica of St. Peter in the background. The room was spacious, the bathroom excellent, the shower superb, the bed great, and cleaning spotless. Towels were complete and sheets superb. The gym had Technogym equipment, perfect for those who want to stay fit while traveling. The lobby welcomed us with cookie and marshmallow bowls, and the staff were very friendly. The hotel felt chic and charming, and I felt very comfortable. Breakfast could have been better. Rating 8. The fruit selection was limited, with no seeds like oats, muesli, or granola. If I asked for eggs outside the buffet, I had to pay à la carte. Anything not on the buffet was charged. The buffet was incomplete, with few bread options and no oven to warm croissants; fruit variety was inconsistent—one day there was banana, another day not. The breakfast on the 7th floor with the view of Vila Borghesi and Ancient Rome was beautiful, but when it moved to the 6th floor in a closed space, it lost all charm. Concierge quality varied; I found some excellent people who helped choose restaurants, book taxis, and suggest visits, while others were less engaging and lacked that special touch of service.

The level of luxury you never imagined existed (even if you’re very imaginative). The staff look like you’d only see in movies, and the food at the Mirabelle restaurant is barely enough praise (just like the staff). It’s no surprise when you learn it’s Italy’s #1 luxury hotel, even ahead of places like the Danieli in Venice.
