The food at the restaurant was really good, both the breakfast that was part of the stay and the a la carte menu we got in the evening. Our original room was in the old wing inside the courtyard, it was old and worn out. A floor rug needed replacing, and the indoor climate and air quality were poor. Thankfully the receptionist was very kind and found a solution so we were moved to a better room.

“Vi kommer ikke tilbage!”

Good central location. Good breakfast with several local products. I can’t think of anything else positive. I arrived with my 11‑year‑old son to a freezing cold room. The radiator didn’t work. There was no hot water in the tap and shower. We raised the issue several times at reception, but only received an extra blanket (which we had to ask for). A maintenance person was called, but the room only warmed up around 23:00, so we froze half the night. There was also awful noise, and the bathroom fan kept turning on and off all the time – even at night. We didn’t get many hours of sleep. Breakfast was tasty, but the kitchen struggled to keep up, so we had to wait a long time for hot dishes (eggs, bacon, sausages.). We felt like an insignificant number in the queue of guests. This was our first and unfortunately also last visit to Hotel Saxkjøbing. We’re willing to drive 15 minutes further to Maribo for a better hotel for the money.
