The place was huge and in a great spot near all the tourist spots, but the furniture felt a bit old and the floor was peeling in some spots – my dog almost slipped on the exposed wood.

The amenities and décor were fantastic, the rooms were spotless and cozy, and I especially enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings.

The lodge itself looked amazing and had everything you could possibly need; the owner was very communicative and even handed us a small hamper with fresh coffee, chocolate truffles, and Prosecco, which was a nice touch. The entrance, however, was disappointing because the Manor House was boarded up, and the on‑site pub was underwhelming with almost no drinks, no lager on tap, and no Diet Coke.
