“The Hotel met our expectations.”
The hotel sits in the heart of Coleford with easy access to many shops and facilities, though the room was small but sufficient for a single night.

The front‑of‑house staff ran everything smoothly, the breakfast was excellent, the mattress was a bit thin but still comfortable, and the large hotel/bar could use some TLC; parking is only the public car park a short walk away—first hour free, then £4 for the rest of the day, but Sunday is free. The worst part was the extremely loud music that kept playing until 1.20am, followed by a bunch of youngsters laughing and causing a ruckus for over an hour after the pub closed.

We stayed at this charming spot right where we needed it, with a bus stop just outside the door and plenty of restaurants and grocery stores nearby. The staff were helpful and the breakfast that came with the stay was hearty and tasty. The building’s old character meant the floors were uneven and a bit wonky, but that added to its charm. The shower was surprisingly spacious, and despite some stains on the walls and a few spots in the room, it was clean enough. Noise from the main road in front of our room was noticeable during the morning commute but didn’t bother us much at night, and the local pub wasn’t open late so that didn’t add any extra noise. The pub was closed late, so that wasn’t an issue. A refresh of the accommodations would be nice, but it wouldn’t stop me from staying here again if I ever return to Coleford.

The breakfast was excellent with plenty of options to choose from. It would have been nice to have food available in the evening, so we brought our own because the kitchen was closed; the staff were great about giving us plates, utensils, and everything else we needed.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was large, and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. However, there were no toiletries in the bathroom.
