The place was inexpensive, but the toilet and sink were far apart and the bed felt too firm.

The quiet, traditional alley is peaceful, and within 300 metres there’s a supermarket and a large pharmacy where you can buy food; the kitchen is very well equipped. The train station is indeed a bit far, and walking there can be tiring if it’s sunny. Switching the phone’s navigation to Japanese, you’ll see at the east exit of the station, stop 6, there’s a bus that can take you there. The fare is 220 yen and you need cash.

The guesthouse was clean, well‑located, and decorated nicely; it’s linked to other nearby shops that make you want to explore without feeling crowded.

The hotel felt like a Ghibli film with a torii gate and a back garden, and the sister store Kado offered a tasty ice cream as a stay perk. I also appreciated the local map I received. Walking from the station takes about 10 minutes, and there are plenty of shops nearby, so convenience was good. The only downside was that the ladder to the upper bunk in the dormitory was hard to climb.
