“Wunderbarer Aufenthalt im Le Grand Quartier”
The hotel is wonderful for a city trip. It’s about a 10‑minute walk from Gare de l’Est, located on a quiet side street. From the moment you arrive, the inviting courtyard and greenery make you feel welcome, and both the reception and lobby are beautifully designed and clean. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Getting to the 4th‑floor room was easy via elevator, and the right‑hand side on that floor offers a great roof terrace, which we only briefly visited in the evenings while we were out in Paris. The room itself is large, well‑proportioned, and more than adequate. The air conditioning works perfectly. The bathroom is separated from the rest of the room by a sliding door that also serves as a full‑length mirror—great idea! The large sink has plenty of counter space above the mirror for toiletry bags, and a cosmetic mirror is also available. The shower has glass walls that are fully sealed, preventing any flooding. The beds were comfortable and we slept very well. The room was quiet, and we barely heard other guests. In the surrounding streets, there’s something for every taste at night. We highly recommend Rue du Faubourg Saint‑Denis for dinner—it's a multicultural hotspot, and every restaurant, bar, or café is packed with Parisians looking to enjoy a great evening. The hotel’s proximity to the station is often associated with shady characters, but we never felt uneasy or unsafe.
On the negative side, the critique is very high‑level. A few suggestions: more storage space with hangers would be great; the chalkboard on the table below the TV takes up unnecessary space and has no use. As some other guests have noted, the hallway to the room is very dark and doesn’t match the bright, stylish lobby.
