Alleyway is where I stay in Kathmandu. The food is great, It has a nice rooftop bar … it is close to all things in Thamel … and the staff is first rate!

“3* in Nepal isn’t the same as 3* in Thailand or Vietnam. If you want comfort - you’d better choose 4* or 5*”

I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel's proximity to the bustling Thamel area, yet it remained quiet at night, allowing me to get a good night's sleep. The modern interior of the rooms looked great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, there were a few issues that detracted from my stay - the lack of a fridge, a clogged sink, and a burst pipe in the bathroom, which forced me to change rooms.
