Palazzo Daniele is a beautiful, characterful place with understated luxury that never feels pretentious. We especially liked the genuine materials, design, and contemporary art pieces that added extra depth to the visit. The staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming throughout. Some parts of the room felt a little dated and worn and could use a refresh. The food was good and nicely prepared, though we would have liked a bit more seasoning and flavor, and more fruit. The main downside was the location; while the Palazzo itself is charming, the surrounding village feels quiet and lacks atmosphere, with not much to see or do. Overall, it’s a beautiful, unique place with a warm, relaxed vibe, but a few details could be improved.
“Foi uma experiência muito romântica e interessante, adoramos a nossa estadia e indicamos aos apaixonados por design, arq”
The palazzo is incredibly interesting, with contemporary furniture contrasting the old palazzo and its time marks. Every room is poetic and unique. The staff are super helpful and attentive. We loved our stay; it’s truly an experience, even the artificial light flickering is intentional to evoke candlelight from the palazzo’s era.
“Visually striking but felt short on comfort, value, and local connection”
The architecture and courtyard at Palazzo Daniele are truly magnificent, though we didn’t entirely find our rhythm with the property. The culinary concept was a bit hard to navigate because the menu is the same for lunch and dinner, making it tricky to choose appropriate portion sizes and food styles depending on the time of day, and we felt the pricing was quite high for what was offered. Our stay in Junior Suite No. 1 was also a bit disappointing; it felt rather bland compared to the rest of the hotel, missing unique furniture, artwork, or character. The lighting was a challenge, with only two flickering bulbs by the bedside. It is an incredible space to look at, but it missed the mark on comfort and value for us (especially at almost 600€/night without breakfast). Additionally, for a boutique property of this caliber, there seemed to be very little connection or implication with the village of Gagliano del Capo itself. The hotel feels somewhat isolated from its surroundings and not like a home in the way it is advertised, which is a shame because the village is absolutely worth exploring—especially local gems like the historic Tessitura Giaquinto weaving factory, local restaurants (Passatempo) and bakeries. Ultimately, we are nevertheless happy to have visited this unique property, but it unfortunately was not the highlight of our trip that we imagined it would be.
“Op een plek waar je het totaal niet verwacht troffen we hier een oase van rust”
The authentic atmosphere.
“Un’oasi di tranquillità ed eleganza”
Everything, one of the most elegant and refined residences we’ve stayed in, and we’ve seen many around the world.
