The espresso machine in the lobby was under repair.

The location was spot‑on, close to all the main sights, but the lighting in the suite could have been brighter. My kids were disappointed because there was no swimming pool.

Comfy bed, staff generally helpful. Room 702 was sold as a King Suite, 37 sq m. However, it was a corner attic room with a huge pillar in the middle of the lounge area, making the room unappealing and impractical. The kitchen area was tiny and the bathroom and bedroom were really cramped. It had a balcony with a step up of over 12" and the view was blocked by a high fence. The staff said this was for safety reasons. It made the balcony pointless and the room dark. No balcony and a picture window would have been better. All in all, the room was nothing like the picture shown for a King suite. We asked for a different room, but this wasn't available until our 2nd and final night, so we didn't bother because it would have inconvenienced our only full day in Victoria. Morning desk staff did offer us a free breakfast in The Ruby, which was much appreciated. Hotel is fine, just make sure your room is as advertised (and avoid the 7th floor!)
