“Nice room and friendly staff”

The room was large and the staff were friendly, but the boiler was broken so there was no hot water; the owner told me about this before I arrived, which was very nice.

The room and bathroom were very nice and spacious, the details in Bielefeld were charming, the host was friendly, we didn’t book breakfast, and we’ll definitely come back!

“Wir waren keine Gäste, wir waren wie eine Familie mit der Hotelesitzer und Personal.”

We had a very nice room with a canopy bed and good equipment; the staff were very friendly and helpful, the value for money was excellent, we were treated like family members rather than anonymous guests, our wishes were quickly fulfilled, breakfast and food were very good, and I would book this hotel again at any time. The only downside was that the parking was only public and therefore not secure.

“Tolles Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis mit kleinen Schwächen”

The hotel’s location was very good, the rooms were modern, clean and cozily furnished, the owner’s friendliness was especially positive and he cared warmly for guests, the breakfast for 9 € was perfectly fine and had everything needed for a good start to the day; a bit of fresh fruit would have been nice, otherwise there was nothing to complain about. A major drawback was that the rooms had no blinds or blackout options, and the reception and some common areas felt somewhat chaotic, even though the owner was always friendly and helpful.

“Vreselijk slecht hotel”

The location was somewhat okay. From Saturday 2 May to Sunday 3 May we stayed at “HOTEL Bahnhof Balingen”. We booked two double rooms with two beds each. Check‑in was possible from 14:00; we arrived at 15:00 and could check in then. The staff gave us one single room and one double room even though we had paid for two double rooms. We tried to leave our luggage in the room and discovered it had not been cleaned, which was odd because we were already an hour past the check‑in time. He promised to have our rooms cleaned as soon as possible so we could use them. At 18:00 we returned (three hours later) and the rooms were still not cleaned. We therefore could not use a clean room all day (they were only cleaned at night). At that point we opened our room with the wrong key. We then found that every room door could be opened with the key you receive; this is a scandal, because anyone could enter at any time, giving an incredibly unsafe feeling. To enter the building you also needed a card, but that did not work either; the door could just be pushed open. Anyone could therefore enter at any time and also open your room (there were working keys on an unattended table). During that terrible night we also discovered that there were no curtains and street lighting let light in all night. In the morning when we wanted to get up, the hot water was also not working, and we had to shower under ice‑cold water. For check‑out there was no communication; we left the keys and cards on the desk and left. No one was reachable.
