The hotel sits close enough to Ōdōri that you could stroll there, even passing through Ōdōri Park, making it very convenient for a quick night in Sapporo; the room felt more like a unit in a Showa‑era apartment block, but the futon was clean enough for a short stay. The heater in the room was covered with a semi‑transparent plastic sheet sitting on a greasy surface, which was a bit off‑putting and made me wonder if I’d have to use that contraption during winter.

Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was not particularly enjoyable, as I felt a lack of freedom and flexibility in the location. The area seemed quite restrictive, which was a bit of a disappointment.

I was having a tough time when my flight from Shin-Chitose Airport was grounded due to a historic snowstorm, but I managed to book a room at Asano Hotel in Sapporo. After a 60-minute wait at the airport and a 90-minute ride to Shin-Sapporo Station, I finally arrived at the hotel, where the president himself provided warm hospitality and chatted with me, instantly lifting my fatigue.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel, thanks to the kind and gentle manager. The room was clean and comfortable, and the proximity to the station was a big plus. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay and would recommend it to others.
