The Wheatsheaf Combe Hay, a 16th‑century West Country inn, sits 4 miles from Bath’s historic center. Its traditional pub features a log‑fire, outdoor terrace, and a menu of locally sourced English breakfast and inventive regional dishes. Rooms offer en‑suite baths, flat‑screen TVs, Wi‑Fi, and free parking. Nearby, the Roman Baths, Royal Crescent, and Bristol are easily accessible.

The hotel sits in a gorgeous, peaceful spot that’s lovingly organised, and the luxurious Buttercup room is a treat. It’s a short drive from Bath Park & Ride, but the breakfast setup feels more suited to a relaxed holiday: no service before 9 a.m., then table service for everyone, which makes it a bit slow for those who want to head out.

The location was great, and Bath was only a few minutes by car. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. The bed was very hard and there were many spiders and spider webs in the cottage.
