“Loved our stay in a castle!”

We were pleased that the property met our expectations and was overall great. When we asked for a different room because we were initially placed near the renovation work, they moved us without issue, and the room inside the castle walls turned out to be excellent. I would advise against staying in the gate house until the building works finish. The castle walls are undergoing renovations, which is understandable for such an old building, but it would have helped to be informed beforehand so we could choose a room accordingly. Breakfast service was slow and could use more staff.

“Not of the standard expected”

History. Run down and shabby interior threadbare carpet on main stairway Poor room cleaning and turndown If you wanted la carte you had to eat in the lounge on low tables Some of the staff were unfriendly

“Have been coming here for 25 years, it's still our favourite place. Will be back soon, thanks to all”

The setting was lovely and the menu offered good choices. Service was prompt and the staff were friendly. Nothing else to add.
