“Hotel mafioso”
It was moderately clean. The manager tried to scam me by offering a currency exchange; when I declined, he made a bad face and responded poorly to everyone.

Very comfortable; the best bed I’ve slept in on my travels. You definitely need a car—nothing is within walking distance. Parking isn’t secure; I left my car in front of a camera with the watchman overnight, but when I checked the next morning, the car was gone. The TV didn’t work.

The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom had a warm shower.

It was possible to take a dip in the pool after many kilometres of motorcycle travel. The place was very clean. We didn’t have hot water, but another room was provided quickly, which we accepted since it wasn’t necessary.

We booked a double room and the hotel manager turned out to be an amazing person who helped us beyond what we expected, even arranging a money exchange and driving us to the hospital when my partner fell ill and picking us up afterward. The staff let us store our bike on site for a few days while we toured Mauritania, and the location is great—just a 10‑15 minute walk to the market. The property is large with a nice outdoor area, a pool, a comfortable restaurant, and the room and bathroom were clean and well kept. Reception staff were always friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home. The only downside was occasional language barriers; ordering food sometimes took a while and the dishes weren’t always exactly what we asked for, but that’s probably normal in Mauritania where we spoke different languages.
