“Beautiful setting and facilities.”
The room and its facilities were wonderful, the bathroom and view were great, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The toiletries were also fantastic. Nothing to complain about.

Château de la Bribourdière, a 4‑star manor in Putot‑en‑Auge, blends historic charm with modern comfort. Its sun‑lit terrace, manicured garden, and free Wi‑Fi set the scene, while a lounge, café, and outdoor seating invite relaxation. Rooms boast private balconies, garden views, bathrobes, and soundproofing. Breakfast ranges from continental to buffet, and room service is available.

The rooms were tastefully decorated in a spacious park, but we had booked one of the most expensive rooms, and the bathroom was described as particularly high‑quality. When we tried to turn on the shower, the water was extremely hot and my wife almost burned herself; we couldn’t lower the temperature. After we complained, the staff admitted knowing the problem but hadn’t informed us. They suggested we stop showering, and the next day the shower was actually disabled. They told us we could wash in the bathtub instead. Our request for another room was denied. After three nights without a shower, the full price was still charged. We complained again, and they offered a 10 % discount, implying we could “correctly” wash in the tub. The hotel failed to charge the amount to our credit card; they asked for our account number, we sent the bank details, but nothing happened. Then they said a check would be mailed, which also never arrived. I now feel cheated.

The surroundings were absolutely stunning and everything was almost perfect. The location is very convenient, far from crowds yet easily reachable. The bathtub in the bedroom caused inconvenience and privacy concerns. Most troubling was a fire alarm that went off at 1 am with no staff on site to help, leaving us unsure how to react. When we asked the next day, we were told staff had disabled the alarm to prevent future incidents. Instead of reassuring us, this raised serious safety red flags, as a functional fire alarm is essential in any accommodation.

A stunning property tucked into a lovely park just a short walk from Houlgate on the Côte Fleurie, with gorgeous, chic rooms that feel high‑end and freshly renovated, complete with all the comforts you’d expect. The bathrooms are splendid and the garden offers a peaceful spot to unwind. However, there was a mess up with the room booking even though everything was clearly stated on our reservation. The initial message from the hotel was quite rude, even shocking, but the front‑desk manager apologized and everything went smoothly when we arrived. Breakfast seemed improvised, sparse, and clearly below the level of this beautiful place; the service matched that. There were no cutlery or cups provided – you had to ask for them. A pity; this spot deserves better.
