“Schönes Resort mit kleinen Mängeln - faire Preis-Leistung”
The kitchen is incredibly tasty, always fresh and generous portions at a good price for tourists. Breakfast includes fresh fruit, omelette, toast, jam, tea/coffee. The room is spacious, with a large outdoor bathroom separated by a door, featuring a rain shower, toilet and sink. Everything is natural stone, very beautiful, sustainable and practical. The mattress was a bit soft for my liking but still comfortable. Two very good pillows. Great sandalwood soap. Two large towels. Storage was enough for me, though I was traveling solo with a backpack. With a partner and luggage it gets a bit tight… The staff is remarkably friendly, helpful, professional and always had a smile and an open ear. This also applies explicitly to the cook. WLAN was terribly bad, even a multi‑day total outage, which was very annoying because I had important online work. The location is somewhat off the beaten path. It’s close to the ocean and lagoon, but quite far to walk, especially with kite equipment. If you book kite hours at the resort, you’ll be driven by truck. No bike rental, which would make sense given the location. Unfortunately there’s always a big puddle at the toilet because something is leaking, especially at night and barefoot it’s unpleasant. The owner also wanted to arrange a taxi for the 150 km trip to the airport but then didn’t, without giving a reason. I think he forgot. He is very friendly, but such things should be included from my point of view. The staff speaks some broken English, which is a big drawback in the tourism sector because foreigners barely speak Sinhala. No direct blame, after all I’m a guest. But it can be frustrating when you’re not understood.
