I booked a stay at Casa della Nonna because of the photos and location shown on Booking. I was disappointed to discover we were housed at a different property – not far from Casa della Nonna, but one that looked different and was located elsewhere. When I asked for an explanation, I was told the owner manages several units in the city and assigns guests based on availability; I think it would have been fair to be informed about this possibility before paying. They could have listed all the properties on Booking and rented them individually, with specific photos and locations for each. Additionally, the listed amenities included free parking, which was not available to us; we were simply told to figure it out ourselves. I believe any guest who books a property with free parking expects to actually receive it; otherwise a sense of disappointment arises. Breakfast was minimal, consisting of a single drink (fresh juice or coffee) and a croissant, served at a nearby bar. I can understand the breakfast style and adapt to local habits, but I felt misled again when I went to get breakfast on Sunday and found the bar closed. No housekeeping activity took place during the stay – no room cleaning, no linen changes, no trash removal, or restocking of shower gel, soap, toilet paper, etc. There was no direct interaction between guests and hosts; everything was handled via WhatsApp. Overall, the stay was pleasant, and the location was close to the city center, but the lack of parking, breakfast situation, and being housed at a different property left a bitter taste.
