The resort is a lovely little surf spot with a restaurant, shop, board hire, and pool. It’s a walk down to the beach, which feels a bit unfamiliar at first but you get used to it; it’s not really that far. Depending on the tide and surf, there are reef breaks and sandy beach breaks. On the beach there are a few shacks selling cold drinks, snacks, and noodles. The food at the resort is really great and reasonably priced. Breakfast is included and my favourite on Lombok. There are a few other places nearby if you want a change for food. The family room came with a private courtyard, which was a bonus; the room was spacious with plenty of hot water. They can organise trips too, such as snorkeling, which was well worth doing. The double bed creaked and the toilet door is impossible to open/close quietly, so in a family room if anyone needs to use the toilet at night it wakes everyone up. Minor, I know, but worth noting. Watch out for the transfer prices; they’re expensive, so shop around.

The accommodation was great, super comfortable, and the food was delicious! Being right next to the waves and having a boat take you out is awesome for surfing. It’s a bit pricier than usual in Indonesia, but worth it. I wish I could have stayed surfing until sunset, but the last boat leaves at 5:45. It’s great, but at the last minute the water is less crowded and you can catch more waves.

The rooms are nice, the restaurant food is very good with fair prices, the location is top, and the staff is very friendly. During our week it seemed like a surf camp was also happening, and we felt we weren’t treated the same as the surf‑camp guests. The start was chaotic; we were asked to pick boards for the next day, but the next morning right before surfing, the boards we had chosen were already reserved for the other surf‑camp guests. My husband didn’t get a board suitable for his level, which was very bitter. In my opinion there was simply no information upon arrival, which hurt the value for money. I had written in weeks earlier to book surf lessons, and I was told we could organise them upon arrival. At arrival, the surf camp was priority, and we were given a local guide instead. That was okay, but it caused some stress at first. I found that very disappointing and would not stay at the surf resort again.

This place sits right in the heart of Ekas. It’s a charming little resort with an impressive restaurant, run professionally by South Africans. We booked the family room with bunk beds and it was cool and lovely. The pool was really lovely and the restaurant feels like a village, with people eating and hanging out. I would highly recommend it. Everything was good.
