“They call the Sierra Nevada de heart of the world. There is snow at the the peaks of this tropical mountain that ends in”
Everything! The place is amazing. Luxury in the middle of the jungle, right next to the river. Nothing else to add.
“Beautiful property and unique concept, but serious maintenance and pest-control issues overshadowed an otherwise promisi”
ONE Santuario is a beautiful and very unique property. The location in the jungle is spectacular, the architecture is special, and you can see that a lot of thought and creativity went into creating the place. The staff we interacted with were generally friendly and helpful. We actually felt that they were doing their best to assist us, so our criticism is not directed at the staff. We also appreciated that, after the problems we experienced, they offered us a 30% discount and one night free. That was a kind gesture and we appreciated it. However, to be clear, the money was never our main concern. What mattered to us was having a good experience and feeling that the problems we raised were properly addressed. Unfortunately, our experience was seriously affected by maintenance, hygiene, safety and the way some issues were handled. On our first night, my wife entered the bathroom and found 10+ cockroaches around our belongings. We immediately reported this and were told the accommodation would be treated the following day. The following day, however, we continued finding cockroaches throughout the accommodation: a very large American cockroach next to the sofa, several more in the living room, one outside and again multiple cockroaches in the bathroom. We reported this a second time and the response was essentially to spray them with a basic insect spray. We completely understand that ONE is located in the jungle and that an occasional insect can enter. That is not our complaint. The problem was the number of cockroaches inside the accommodation and the lack of effective preventive pest control. We live in the tropics ourselves and understand very well that tropical properties require regular preventive treatment. We were grateful that on our final night they moved us to another cabana. Unfortunately, we found several cockroaches in that cabana as well, which made us feel that the underlying problem had not really been resolved. There were also several other maintenance problems: loose taps, loose door handles and an exterior door that did not properly lock. These issues were reported but were not properly followed up. More seriously, I tripped over a loose wooden plank in the restaurant and cut my foot badly enough to bleed. We were told that the wooden planks were known to be loose and needed renovation. Shortly afterwards, our son also fell in the same area. Know what you are booking ONE Santuario is not really a conventional hotel. It is very much a lifestyle and community concept created around the owners’ personal philosophy. The owners are highly present on the property and participate in daily activities, meals, staff interactions and social events
“5 sterrenverblijf in de jungle naast een rivier, de perfecte combinatie”
The jungle‑side five‑star resort by the river offered exactly what we wanted: spacious, private, beautifully appointed rooms and nightly dinners that were excellent even for vegans, plus flawless service and clear communication. We also enjoyed complimentary access to the temazcal, which was a great experience, though the check‑in took a long time—as is common in Colombia—but everything else was perfect, and I’d gladly stay again.
Amazing! I have traveled in many parts of Colombia and S America and stayed in some very amazing hotels and boutiques but One Love sanctuary is now my most favorite boutique resort experience. It is just that - a sanctuary resort nestled in-between Palomino town and the Seirra Nevada national park. From the curated menu, luxury comfort rooms to my new favorite bath shower experience (its a waterfall of soft water). One Love is a rare gem. I live on Maui Hawaii so I have an idea of what paradise is and I cannot wait to find the opportunity to come stay here in Colobian paradise asap. One Love!
“Sacred”
One Santuario is part of a sacred land and you can definitely feel it. The staff is extremely friendly, the chef is very creative, I had incredible meals and had a lot of fun in their common areas and activities. It’s very strange that they don’t include the drinks in the meals and having to pay for them separately. No other place does such thing
