It’s a great spot if you want to experience Julian; everything is within walking distance and the staff are very helpful, though parking can be a little tight at times, it’s always available.

The location was great with a nice view of the town from the top of the hill, and my Overlook room was spacious with an in‑room jacuzzi tub, but the floor plan felt odd: the door opened to a layout where the bed faced the entrance and the jacuzzi was next to the bed in a space that looked like a living room. The desk/table was next to the door, which felt more like a kitchen or a small dining area; a small table with two chairs might have been cozier than the desk with one chair. I liked the wet bar area with a countertop and shelf near the fridge, though a microwave would have been nice. I would have preferred the king bed to be farther from the door, near the jacuzzi for more privacy, and a living room area with a couch where the bed was, since there was a fireplace nearby. The fireplace was oddly positioned at an angle next to the bathroom door, and a seating area in front of it would have been better; a TV was also beside the fireplace, which seemed out of place. I’d have liked the jacuzzi to be part of the bathroom, but the plumbing layout made that impossible. Overall the room was comfortable but felt strange. The Happy Hour at the bar was excellent, with a delicious charcuterie board and a very friendly bartender named Chris who gave great dining suggestions and good drinks. Sitting by the big windows overlooking the forest after our long drive to Julian felt like a ski lodge in the mountains, even though the outside temperature was in the 80s. We chose Quecho's for dinner based on Chris’s recommendation; they had the best tacos and guacamole, and we also enjoyed the breakfast basket left at our door in the morning with hot coffee, apples, and muffins.

The vibe was great, the location right on the main street was perfect, and our room felt super cozy.

The property is stunning, and the wild turkeys add a nice touch! However, some walls and stucco areas are cracked and need repair.

The place is clean and nice, but there is no restaurant or spa as advertised, and it feels too expensive for what’s offered.
