“Perfect Short stay.”
We were celebrating our 65th birthdays and decided to hit every corner of Bali—East, North, West, and the center—so we booked a brief stay in Candidasa. Check‑in was smooth and the parking lot was right on the property, giving us daily access to our car. Breakfast came with the room, but we had to pre‑book it the day before, which felt more like a hospital procedure than a hotel perk. The pool was spotless, cleaned daily, and had plenty of sunbeds. Each morning we took an early walk to watch the sunrise and the fishermen’s routine, and the ocean side has a complete walking path along the beach—though there’s no real beach, so if you’re nimble you can dart over a few obstacles. The Rossa Gardens were a highlight; the grounds were very nice and relaxing, and we drove around daily to explore all that Candidasa offers, from great restaurants to tourist spots. The only downside was that the curtains over the glass sliders in our large room didn’t close fully—they stopped at the frame and only let in sheer curtains. We were near the restaurant and the garden lights stayed on for security, so we had to improvise with heavy curtains to block the gaps, and we told reception. We don’t usually watch TV, but the one in our room was on the fritz, requiring us to unplug and plug it back in; we ended up using our phone for background noise while sitting outside with a few drinks.
