“It was lovely. A little too isolated for my comfort level but lovely!”
I arrived at Willoughby House on a Sunday afternoon, followed the instructions to enter, and found the place empty. The building itself was impressive. My room was gorgeous, and although being alone in an inn felt a bit unsettling, I liked it. The bed was so comfortable I slept like a log! I left early the next morning and skipped breakfast, but it looked lovely and offered everything you could want. On my last night, the downstairs restaurant was open, and my room filled with amazing cooking aromas. Despite the busy restaurant, the noise in my room was minimal, even though it was directly above the kitchen. The amenities in the room and bathroom were lovely, exceeding my expectations. Overall, I recommend this spot to anyone seeking a private, quiet, and lovely retreat. I was uneasy staying alone at first, later learning another guest was in the building – a fact I didn’t know. The back stairwell smelled of trash, but on Tuesday morning someone was cleaning it. The lack of a lock you can secure from inside the room was also a little scary, so I kept my suitcase in front of the door to notice any attempted entry.
