The host was lovely, and the fridge was stocked with water, butter, bacon, orange juice, and a bunch of bits; the bed was so comfy.

The host was lovely – cheerful and welcoming. The accommodation smelled damp and wasn’t very clean, but the main issue was the toilet area; it smelled heavily of urine and the toilet was flushed with a kettle‑full of water, which was worse than even a basic camping toilet. We took a taxi home instead of tolerating the substandard bathroom facilities and general conditions.

Super comfy and homely – we slept like logs 👍 Chrissie welcomed us, and she left plenty of breakfast items and other goodies, even nipping to M&S for yummy cakes; the spot is ideal, very central and just 2 minutes from the car park, quirky and something different. The toilet was super small and we couldn’t get the shower to work.

The hostess was very enthusiastic and keen to please. The location was great right in the centre of town. The bed was very comfy. The breakfast offering, which was left for you to prepare/enjoy, was more than generous. I accept that the accomodation is described as basic with which I don't have a problem. Perhaps we have different views on standards of cleanliness but we felt the houseboat was tired and a bit grubby. The toilet and shower facilities were necessarily cramped but we chose not to use them where possible. I'm not a river dweller so perhaps I expected too much from this stay for the price. Writing this gives me no pleasure but our experience was a great disappointment. We had been looking forward to staying on the boat but I have to share my thoughts to be fair to others who may want to try the Rosie and Jim experience
