The decor is nice, the room is comfortable, and it offers more space than other hotels at a similar price; its proximity to a huge 24‑hour supermarket is amazing. However, the laundromat floor and elevator floor were pretty wet at night, and the slippers provided were slippery, causing me to slip and fall inside the elevator.

The staff greeted us warmly and the check‑in went smoothly. My family of five stayed in the interconnecting rooms, which had everything we needed for our five‑night stay. A mid‑stay cleaning was provided and we could request fresh towels daily. The hotel sits on a quiet street and is just a seven‑minute walk to the train station that connects to everywhere we needed. A Family Mart is about 30 meters away, which was very convenient. There’s a restaurant on site and free coffee until 2 pm. I’d definitely book again. The only downside was that the room only had matcha for tea and coffee; we ended up buying our own.

Akihabara is one of Tokyo’s busiest spots (Shibuya tops the list), but a few streets over lies The Tourist Hotel, a quiet oasis. We had forwarded our luggage ahead of time and the check‑in was on schedule. It would have been nice to have a gym, though.

The location was spot on and the staff were friendly. I was surprised by how spacious the room was; I expected a tight space for that Tokyo rate, but two large suitcases fit without a hitch. During the trip we got caught in two days of typhoon rain, so the in‑room washer‑dryer was a lifesaver. The hotel also gave free bottled water, and in Tokyo I can’t think of any flaw. The only minor issue was that the room felt a bit stuffy because of the dampness, but turning on the air‑con improved airflow a lot.
