“Great hotel in a perfect location”

I booked the Saracen's Head for myself and 4 mates to stay after completing the 3 peaks challenge and it was absolutely perfect. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the rooms were great, beds comfy, and the food at the bar was excellent. Thanks for a great stay, I wish we could have stayed longer

“Fabulous little place in the heart of North Wales.”

The room was spacious and beautifully decorated, as was the bathroom; the whole place was clean and well decorated, enhancing the beauty of this lovely historical building, which sits in a magical position on the river. There are 11 rooms, all with local Welsh names directly linked to the area’s history, and the rest of the hotel is spacious, light and airy, which is hard to achieve in a property of this age. It’s really very charming, homely, clean and smart. Breakfast was OK; I would have liked overnight porridge with more fruit, but the cooked breakfasts all looked great, especially for a small hotel. The evening menu was quite “pub‑like,” but we both enjoyed the food, which was tasty, and… goodness!…there was plenty of it! The menu was a bit “chip‑heavy,” but we were able to substitute chips for mash. All in all, a really lovely place to stay, in a great position to take in the beauty of North Wales and Eryri. The only downside was probably a greater variety of healthy home‑cooked food and fewer chips.
