“I will be back.”
I loved my stay at Rex. The location is fantastic, making it easy to explore Zermatt while still feeling like a quiet retreat. I visited in summer, and although the village reached 33 °C during the day, the nights in the hotel were very bearable and I slept well. My room was comfortable and welcoming, a real haven after a day out. The yard was a lovely bonus: peaceful, with lounge chairs that were ideal for unwinding. The wellness centre was a real highlight. It has two saunas, a huge jacuzzi, and a beautiful swimming pool that feels properly luxurious. After a day out in the summer heat, it was the perfect place to cool off and unwind. Complimentary dried nuts and fruits, lemon water, and a selection of teas were laid out, a thoughtful touch that made the whole experience feel even more relaxing. I spent far more time there than I'd planned, and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. One of my favorite surprises was the hotel's own artisanal bakery, which is outstanding. Waking up to the smell of fresh bread drifting through the hotel is hard to beat, and it made every morning feel special before I'd even left my room. The bread and pastries were exactly what you hope for in a mountain village: warm, beautifully made, and clearly crafted with care. It's a small thing that makes a big difference, and I looked forward to it every day. I'd gladly return and recommend it to anyone visiting Zermatt. I can’t think of anything negative.
