“OK but not impressed”
The location is good. The rooms are somewhat tatty and dirty, not a great value for money, and the place feels dark and dingy.

The hotel sits perfectly for a quick visit to Calais, and the staff are very friendly and very helpful. On the day of departure we were allowed to leave our car in the garage a bit longer because we wanted to go for a bike ride first. The beds are fine and the breakfast is decent. The rooms feel a bit dated, and the hallway lights flicked off too quickly, leaving us in the dark on the way to our room at the end of the walk. Mostly English guests stay here, and the TV in the lobby is loud even when no one is watching.

It’s within walking distance of town and also convenient for the Channel Tunnel (Le Shuttle). The staff are helpful, and there’s secure parking for a small fee. The place has an odd smell.

Really comfortable bed, quiet area and easy to park on the street. A walking distance to the Calais centre. Extremely friendly staff. All good, but if I have to say a suggestion, the room feels a bit dim and it could do with a refurbish

The location is excellent, just behind the railway station and next to the bus station, making commuting easy with the shuttle bus to and from the ferry port up the street. The welcome was warm and helpful. The rooms were relatively clean, and the pricing is fair for the location. However, the rooms we stayed in looked nothing like the photos, were very dated, and the building shows a lot of neglect; shower curtains were covered in mould. The hotel is in a bad state, and as a historic property it’s appalling that it’s being left to rot. No rules are enforced, with people making noise up to 4 am, smoking, shouting out their windows, and banging. Breakfast costs 12.99 per person and is a complete waste of money—just a few slices of generic cheese and a couple of yogurts. They offered us scrambled eggs or an omelette; my travel partner had the scrambled egg, I had the omelette. No flavour, overcooked liquid egg. Two mouthfuls and it was over, so we went for a better breakfast down the street.
