The motel was the closest one to the event my son attended, and the room looked clean. Still, a large section of the TV screen was yellow, the bathroom door had a residential doorknob, and the room had a faint odd smell. The advertised swimming pool was a joke—it had been closed for years, no water, a chair, and piles of trash. When I asked for extra washcloths, the office lady refused, so I had to drive out late to buy them. On the morning of checkout, my room key stopped working, and the same grumpy woman seemed annoyed that I’d wake her to reprogram it so early; I had no way to get back in. The office staff were very unfriendly and unprofessional, the worst service I’ve ever seen, and I can’t believe I paid $100 a night for this.
