The location was great and the free‑drink cafe was calm and pleasant.

When we arrived, the bellboy was moved by taking our car to the parking lot, and after checkout a heavy rainstorm hit; he moved the car to a covered entrance so we stayed dry, which was amazing. The night view was beautiful, though the morning rain hid most of it, and if it had cleared it would have been spectacular. The Book Cafe didn’t have a huge collection of books, but offered free coffee and tea, creating a relaxing space. My son, a university student, and I stayed in a twin room with a sofa bed, which was comfortable. The room was spacious and comfortable overall. The lobby had a small shop stocked with souvenirs, snacks, and amenities. I bought a salt castella and ate it in the room. Breakfast featured Nagasaki specialties like kanboko, sappa rice, and pork belly, and I had the sappa rice topped with salmon, green onion, and clam tsukudani, then drizzled with a gentle broth, which was delicious. The service was top‑level and the price reasonable, so I promised my son we’ll come again. The staff were very kind and courteous, making the two‑night stay wonderful. The only thing I’d wish for is a large public bath.

The staff were better than average, but the location was bad, and the room had a cramped bed, cockroaches, and spiders that made me feel like the staff were sleeping there. It was a last‑minute booking and it was the worst experience; I wish they’d have warned me beforehand. The price was high and disappointing.

The staff were incredibly helpful, and the shuttle bus made it easy to get to the station where I could enjoy great food while my husband relaxed with a drink, which made us both happy. Unfortunately, when we opened the curtains to enjoy the night view, the heliport blocked half of it, so we only got a partial view – but that’s just how it is.
