“Отличное место по очень хорошей цене”
The location is great compared to the city beach (7 min or 10 min to the turtles) and the main road; a railway line runs nearby but is hardly audible. A small shop is about 1 km away, while a larger one is 4 km away. The host, Lakvidu, is friendly and replies quickly to messages; upon arrival he offered fresh juice, and we booked an airport transfer from Mattala for $62. Breakfast options include two eggs with toast (jam, butter, coffee, juice) and a plate of fruit (pineapple and watermelon, or mango, or papaya) or an omelette. In the evening we tried the Rotti with chicken (1450 INR) and a salad bowl with pieces of Vahu fish (1950 INR). The property is large, clean, fenced, and has a pool. Squirrels run around the grounds, and occasionally monkeys sit on the fence. The room has a big bed with a balcony and a single bunk, an AC, a fan, a TV, Wi‑Fi, a table, chairs, two towels (even though we were three), a rapier, a fridge, a gas stove, a toaster, a kettle, and a blender. There’s a bit of broken crockery, a few plates, forks, and two mugs. The only downside is the limited dishware in the room.
