It was just a place to sleep. When we arrived, we learned the chef wasn't coming that Friday night—a recurring problem mentioned in other reviews. We had to find a spot up the road and declined their offer to heat up supermarket food in a microwave. After spending an hour driving two miles because a broken truck blocked the road, we weren't keen to go back that way again. The room wasn't very clean; the window ledge was covered in outdoor debris. What shocked me most was seeing drinking glasses on a tray with toiletries inside the toilet cistern—an obvious health hazard. With a bit more attention to detail and stricter safety compliance, this could be a decent place to stay.

Beautiful area. Very old interior, stairs dirty, rooms above pub, doors and locks not secure, markings all over walls, hairs in plug holes, shower screens not clean, entertainment in pub which is heard very loudly in rooms

The beds were comfy, sleeped well. Everything was great, only problem I ran into is I had to leave to catch a flight at 9am and no staff where there to collect my key
