We chose this hotel because it was close to Pearl Bay waterpark, but when we arrived nobody seemed to expect us and there was no warm greeting. Check‑in was supposed to start at 13:00, yet at 14:00 only one of the five rooms we had booked was available even though the property was empty. We tried to stash our luggage and head to the park, but the staff kept demanding photos and copies of our passports and repeatedly talked about four rooms while we had actually booked five, which we finally received after being asked for payment over and over. No one knew who the manager was, the same questions were asked twice and I had to fill out two identical forms while still being asked to pay for rooms we didn’t yet have. Cash wasn’t accepted and card payments didn’t work, so we had to find an ATM in the village – and that was just the check‑in hassle. The rooms were dirty, some showing mold, with loose electrical cords everywhere; most beds only had a sheet on top and we had to request a bottom sheet. The hand towels smelled stale, some were stained and clearly old, and the tiny shampoo bottles in the bathrooms were clearly reused and covered in black mold. In the common area plastic tables were sticky. When a few of our large group ordered drinks after others had already done so, I asked for a glass of beer and was handed the dirty glass left by the previous guest. The overall lack of hygiene made us decide not to eat there, and the whole place feels like a faded glory in need of major repairs. Staff slept in the room next to ours and were woken up loudly each morning by persistent knocking on the door.
