Located in Hertfordshire's picturesque countryside, Champneys Tring is a historic health resort set within a classic English stately home. The property features modern rooms, a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym, and exercise classes, as well as exclusive treatments like Carita facials and Kriotherapy. It's a 20-minute drive from the M25 and M1 motorways, with 170 acres of parkland and private terraces or balconies in many rooms.

The overall facilities are very plush, as this is a spa hotel with many gyms, swimming pools, and treatment rooms, but the hotel side was different: the room we stayed in was not value for money at almost £200 for the night. The hotel room was functional and somewhat clean, yet we found someone’s shorts and petals in the corner, so clearly it hadn’t been cleaned properly. The shower leaked and the outer walls of the rooms were shabby. Sadly, this is only suitable for those who want to enjoy a spa and other amenities, not for a pure hotel stay. Good facilities and food, but the hotel rooms do not live up to Champagne’s standards!

The food, the peace, and the surroundings were great, but the extra costs for meals, the spa temperatures, and the tired-looking facilities were drawbacks.

Breakfast was fine, and the grounds were nice, but it was too busy and not relaxing.

The rooms were a good size with a decent bed and nice gardens, yet they were hot in summer and the included breakfast was terrible.
