“Malheureusement pas terrible”
The host’s kindness was appreciated. Climbing a narrow staircase with luggage at 80 years old was not anticipated, and the bedding was uncomfortable.
“Très belle rencontre humaine, très bel accueil et... très bien mangé.”
I stayed at this gîte, a truly authentic chambre d'hôtes, and the expansive, tranquil countryside outside was gorgeous. The furnishings and period décor matched the setting, yet everything essential was available. The breakfast was very complete, varied, local, and homemade, and the optional evening meal was equally good. Shared moments of discovery were lovely, but the real highlight was Madame Baudet, the owner and hostess—a charming, natural woman without any pretensions. She offered a wide range of knowledge, shared it gladly, and remained open‑minded and modern for her respectable age. A wonderful person to meet. The mattresses were a bit worn, and there were very active spiders weaving their webs.
“on était bien logés”
The breakfast was very refined, and Brigitte’s welcome was nice. The staircase was very dangerous, there were mosquitoes, and I was left with many bites.
“Pour y passer une nuit c est très bien. Rien ne manque et la propriétaire est à nos petits soins.”
The welcome and location were very good. The housekeeping could be improved.
The breakfast was carefully prepared and full of little touches. We also enjoyed the quiet, and the welcome was very warm.
