We’re back at this hotel on our way to Europe. It’s very close to the border, so it’s convenient if you need to reach the checkpoint early or stay overnight on the return leg. The last time we stayed, we were genuinely impressed by how decent the hotel is for the price. Less than a year ago, it seems the rooms were additionally renovated, so it’s even better now—clean, cozy, and fully equipped. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to complain, but we arrived after midnight, so it’s no surprise the doors were locked and everyone was asleep. I had warned in advance that we’d be late and even called an hour before arrival. The front‑desk lady assured us that we were expected, but I couldn’t wake the guard or the porter with a knock, so I called the front‑desk again. With the heavy rain outside and the fatigue after a long line at the border, it was a bit disappointing.
