Located in Chania’s historic harbour, Narkissos “SUPERB” occupies a restored 16th‑century building steps from bars, cafés and traditional taverns. Each air‑conditioned room features dark‑wood décor, a private balcony with Old Town views, mini‑fridge, seating area and flat‑screen TV, plus an en‑suite shower. A ground‑floor snack bar serves light meals, fruit salads, ice‑cream, waffles and full English breakfast.

The apartment is very nicely located right in the heart of Chania’s old town and is quite spacious. There is plenty of room and even a couch, so you can stay comfortably. The large balcony with a view of the church is especially nice for morning seating. We also liked the quiet location and slept very well. Cleanliness deserves high praise: the apartment was truly spotless and was cleaned daily during our stay. Beds were made and trash bins emptied—excellent service. However, the apartment is overall poorly furnished and looks worn and in need of repair in many places. There are numerous small and large defects: the wardrobe lacks a handle, the floor covering peels in places, and various furnishings are damaged or worn. Hooks for hanging clothes or jackets are missing throughout. Kitchen supplies are extremely sparse—only three different plates for two people: a large, a small, and a deep plate. A dish towel and a usable kitchen knife were missing. The bathroom is especially in need of repair: the shower enclosure lacks a door handle, water runs onto the floor, and the towel rack is defective—the bars on one side no longer fit properly and fall with minimal weight. Overall, significant maintenance is required, even though the bathroom and apartment were very clean. Another issue was the air conditioning. Although a heating function exists, it didn’t work. Even at 28 °C it didn’t get warm. In October nights were quite cool and only very thin blankets were provided, making it very uncomfortable. The most disappointing part was communication with the host. We repeatedly tried to contact the provided phone number before arrival for key handover and parking info, but received no response. On site, key handover was handled smoothly by the adjacent bar, where they apparently already waited for us. Still, a brief reply would have been appreciated.

A fantastic spot right in the heart of Chania’s old town, the room was cozy and the staff were super responsive. All the tourist attractions were just a few minutes away, and we even snagged a discount at the bar in the same building. The shower booth doors were broken and the bathroom ventilation could use a fix. Also, parking is a hassle – you have to hunt for a spot yourself if you drive, since the old center blocks car traffic and there’s no free parking in the town center. Check the parking info ahead of time.
