“Better than expected for New York”
I spotted a cheap, tidy place with a small off‑street parking spot, and it’s a stone’s throw from LaGuardia for quick layovers, but the hotel feels like it’s tucked into a back alley or industrial park, so early‑morning jet blasts can keep late sleepers awake.
“Choice Hotels are really sub standard. I’m surprised.”
I had no positives to mention, but I waited an hour and a half for the shuttle, the room was a mess with leather scraped off the chair, the floorboards were uneven, and it definitely wasn’t a Marriott.
The staff were friendly and helpful, the airport shuttle ran on time, the linens were clean, and the hotel’s proximity to the airport was convenient for a pre‑flight layover, but the mattress was a bit soft, I was alone, there was no 6 am breakfast when I needed to leave, and the AC in my room was noisy.
