“Enjoyable”

The food was good and the pool and beach were great, but the food service was always slow and the Wi‑Fi didn’t work in the rooms.

“Policy over common sense and guest comfort.”

I liked the front porch area. The pool was large. The beef tapa tasted great. It felt like the management was intentionally doing a poor job. They ask for a 1,000‑peso deposit for a key card that’s falling apart, but the most absurd rule is the towel policy. They swap towels every day yet refuse to give an extra set so guests can have one towel for swimming and another for showering throughout the stay. Our group of three stayed three nights, so we would have needed only six towels if we had a spare set. Because of the mandatory daily swaps, we ended up using twelve. That’s not just inconvenient—it’s wasteful. After a night swim, we had to chase someone down to trade wet towels for dry ones for showers. Otherwise, my daughter had to walk back to the room shivering without a towel or wait for fresh ones before showering. It’s a perfect example of a rule that makes life harder for guests while adding work for staff. The food was overpriced, and staff were disingenuous about portion sizes in ways that seemed designed to discourage sharing (especially desserts) and every day they had no fish. We were told their supplier hadn’t arrived, which raised more questions since many nearby restaurants had fish. What a waste. This place could be great, but it’s ruined by confusing policies, poor management, and a total lack of common sense.

The staff were very helpful and polite, the location was perfect right next to a great beach. The restaurant was excellent. The rooms were a bit basic but they worked fine for us.
