“Best all around accommodation on Chichijima”
The inn sits away from the city center and pier, giving a fully immersive vibe without feeling cut off; the trails are clearly marked and a short walk takes you to the nearest beach, while the village bus runs to the city center. The “top room” was fully furnished with meticulous detail, and a gift of local treats plus a water bottle with a carabiner highlighted their focus on sustainability and local crafts. Their passion shone through in daily breakfast and dinner, each dish proudly featuring local farms or fisheries. The owners went to great lengths to pack a dinner for a guest who had to leave early—soup in a thermos, every detail cared for—and also prepared a meal basket for guests on a full‑day tour. The level of care from the moment you’re greeted at the pier to the moment they reluctantly send you off is extraordinary. The only inconvenience was that the village bus only runs until about 6 pm, so getting to the city center after that is less convenient unless you have a rental car or bike.
“満喫”
The location was very quiet, which helped me relax. The meals and the room were thoughtfully arranged, making the stay feel like it passed in a flash.
“最高です!”
Food was truly delicious as the reviews said, with a variety of dishes each meal so you never get bored. I stayed in the two‑story room called Yamatomi, and the semi‑outdoor bathroom with the huge bathtub was a particular highlight. All the other amenities were in place, and having a dryer in the room was a big help. The place felt like a villa, so much that I wanted to stay forever, and it was genuinely soothing. The owner and the two staff members were both wonderful, making the stay the best ever. Outside the room, I encountered geckos, frogs, birds, and other creatures, so if you’re sensitive to bugs, you might want to be careful.
