Breakfast in the morning was good. I usually visit the Somalingeswarar temple, and the walk from there to Jeyam Hotel is quite long—just a fun fact.
I felt a bit out of place in a European‑style setting that was confusing in many ways, but one staff member stayed calm and understanding. There was nothing to eat nearby that would suit a European palate, and I had a weak stomach that made me cautious about where I ate. The bed linen was stained, and the bathroom could have been cleaner. I asked for tea, they gave it, but then charged me extra (they didn’t have change when I paid for the room and didn’t tell me beforehand). It wasn’t about the price; it was about the lack of principle. In India, tea is usually included in the service, and I was already paying for breakfast that I couldn’t take because I was leaving early, so a compensation would have been fair. Maybe I’m being too picky, but one employee was kind enough to acknowledge that I felt cheated and that the situation was uncomfortable.
The room was spacious and tidy. The only downside was the absence of a restaurant.
The room was clean. However, there was no restaurant and the breakfast selection was limited.
It’s just another budget option in the area. The Wi‑Fi was poor and the AC didn’t work well.
